JAY-Z

Jay-z was born on December 4, 1969, as Shawn Corey Carter. He was born in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. When his father left the family, he took to the streets and began rapping under the name of Jazzy, and hustling. He quickly learned how to work his way around the rapping industry. He released his debut album, the Reasonable Doubt in 1996. The Reasonable Doubt did not reach the top of the charts but it did gain a lot of fans. He realeased many other records over the years, which made him a legend in the hip-hop/rap world. Jay-Z released The Black Album, which was said to be his last album before retiring. He started a fairwell tour, which led him to sell out at Madison Square Garden on the first week, which rarely happens. After retiring from the rapping business, Jay-Z accepted the offer to be the president of Def Jam Records, a huge record label. He began his own clothing line named RocaWear. He co-owns an upscale nightclub in New York named the 40/40 Club. He has established himself as a leading African-American entrpreneur. Just recently he came out of "retirment" to squash some rap beefs with the chart topping CD Kingdom Come.

Jay-Z will always be remembered, in the music world and the business world.
